ThetaMaxx (“we,” “us”) is a meditation app, on iPhone and at thetamaxx.com, that writes a guided audio session from what you tell it and plays it over a binaural tone. This page explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how long we keep it — limited to what the app actually does.
Information we collect
Account data. Your email address and password, which you choose when you create your account and use to sign in.
Session content. What you type when creating a session — the session type and length, your intention or context (or your mantra and its framing) — and the script written from it, including your edits.
Narration audio. The spoken audio generated from your scripts. In the iPhone app, your sessions and their audio are stored only on your device. On thetamaxx.com, they are stored in your account so you can replay and edit them.
Usage records. How many minutes of new narration your account renders each month, so we can apply your plan’s monthly allowance. On thetamaxx.com we also count how many times you play each saved session, for the “most played” sort.
Subscription status. If you subscribe to Premium, we store whether your subscription is active, when it renews or ends, and Apple’s transaction ID for it, so we can unlock Premium on your account. Payment is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your card details.
We don’t use analytics, tracking, or advertising of any kind. The only cookie thetamaxx.com sets is the one that keeps you signed in.
How we use it
Only to run the app: to sign you in and secure your account; to write your script, your session’s title, and (on request) a mantra, by sending your session content to Anthropic’s Claude API; to turn the script into speech by sending its text to ElevenLabs; to apply your monthly allowance and Premium status; and to send account emails such as sign-up confirmation and password resets. We don’t send marketing email, and we don’t sell your data or use it to profile you.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that make the app work, and only what each one needs:
- Supabase — accounts, database, and web file storage (hosted on AWS in the US).
- Vercel — hosts thetamaxx.com and the server the app talks to.
- Anthropic — receives your session content to write scripts and titles.
- ElevenLabs — receives script text to generate the spoken audio.
- Resend — delivers account emails to your address.
- ImprovMX — forwards email you send to our support address.
- Apple — processes subscription payments and tells us when a subscription starts, renews, or ends.
Each provider processes this data only to deliver its service to us, and is bound by its terms with us to keep it confidential and secure — the same standard of protection this policy describes.
How long we keep it
- Your account, usage records, and subscription status — until you delete your account.
- Web sessions and audio — until you delete them, or your account.
- iPhone sessions and audio — on your device only, until you delete them or the app.
- Text sent to Anthropic and ElevenLabs — kept by them for a limited period under their own retention policies, then deleted.
- Server logs — kept for a few days for troubleshooting, then deleted automatically.
- Subscription records — after you delete your account, Apple’s transaction records are kept without any link to you, for refunds and accounting.
Security
Your account data and saved sessions are private to your account — enforced in the database itself, so only you can reach your own data through the app. Web audio is kept in private storage, and everything is sent over encrypted connections.
Your choices
You can edit or delete any session yourself, at any time. You can delete your whole account in the app (Settings → delete account): that permanently removes your account, your saved web sessions and audio, your usage records, and your subscription status. Deleting the iPhone app removes the sessions stored on that device. If you subscribed through the App Store, also cancel the subscription in your Apple ID settings — billing is handled by Apple. For a copy of your data, or for anything you can’t do in the app, email us.
Children's privacy
ThetaMaxx is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If anything material changes about what we collect or how we use it, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
